Nathan’s practice focuses on business transactions, entity formation, healthcare, and employment law. Nathan combines these generally distinct practice areas to create a unique, full-service multidisciplinary practice for both healthcare and non-healthcare clients.

Nathan assists his clients with entity formation, contract preparation, lease preparation, general business counseling, stock purchase agreements, buy-sell agreements, operating agreements and related documents.

Nathan counsels clients on healthcare related issues, including but not limited to, consent, privacy, Anti-Kickback, Stark, HIPAA, and related matters. Nathan also assists physicians and other healthcare providers in structuring their business transactions and relationships in compliance with the complex federal and state regulatory framework.

Nathan regularly assists clients with matters involving the Department of Fair Employment and Housing and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission related to discrimination, harassment and retaliation as well as matters before the California Labor Commissioner regarding wage and hour issues. Nathan provides counsel to employers on day-to-day issues involving discipline, termination, leaves of absence, harassment and discrimination investigations and other employment related issues.

Nathan recently returned to Dowling Aaron Incorporated after serving for two years as in-house counsel for Community Medical Centers (CMC), a large local healthcare system. While at CMC, Nathan provided legal advice and representation to CMC’s various hospitals, outpatient and inpatient centers, and CMC’s management team, officers and directors.
