Matt’s practice is focused on business litigation, agri-business, securities, business transactions, real estate, and construction law.  His area of emphasis includes representing clients in complex civil disputes through all stages of litigation for issues involving breach of contract, lien rights, construction defects, real property, misappropriation of trade secrets, intellectual property, personal injury, and other business disputes in Federal and State Court, arbitrations, and administrative hearings before various state and federal agencies.  Matt frequently represents packers, growers, brokers, shippers, food processors and other clients within the agricultural industry in cases involving PACA violations, food safety, crop loss, lien rights and other general business matters.   Matt has also represented defrauded investors in matters pertaining to account churning, excessive trading and other securities violations before FINRA and the NASD, and has handled multiple disputes involving complex business valuations, appraisals and shareholder buyout agreements.  

Both in 2010 and 2012, Matt was selected as a Northern California Rising Star, representing the top 2.5% of young lawyers in Northern California as voted on by his peers.  He has also published articles on the enforcement of PACA Trust rights in various publications throughout California.

While in attendance at the Pepperdine School of Law, Matt was a fellow at the Geoffrey H. Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and the Law and served as a staff member on the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary Journal. Prior to joining the firm, Matt helped start docstoc.com and worked at the Pepperdine Legal Aid Clinic located at the Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles, California.

Matt is currently a member of the Fresno County Bar Association, the Association of Business and Trial Lawyers, a board member on the Fresno County Young Lawyer Association and one of the founders of the Central Valley’s Christian Legal Society.
